ELECTRONIC MUSIC’S RISING STARS
NICKY ROMERO & ZEDD
WILL RING IN THE NEW YEAR AT
LOS ANGELES’ CLUB NOKIA
MONDAY, DECEMBER 31ST
Los Angeles’ CLUB NOKIA is excited to host two of electronic music’s most talented producers, NICKY ROMERO & ZEDD, on Monday, December 31st. This New Year’s Eve show will continue the venue’s tradition of ringing in the New Year with a bang. Past New Year’s Eve shows have included musical acts Chromeo, Wanda Jackson and Best Coast. Tickets for this show go on sale Friday, October 19th at 10am.
Nicky Romero, the 23 year old Dutch DJ/Producer, has proved himself not only behind the decks, but also in the studio. As a multifaceted musician, Romero’s daring productions have taken him into the studio with the likes of the worlds most sought after electronic and hip-hop acts like David Guetta, Tiesto, Avicii, Sydney Samson, Kelly Rowland, Eva Simmons, Usher, Madonna, and a mentorship under the famed Fedde Le Grand. His remix of Green Velvet’s “Flash” seized the CDJs of DJs’ sets on nearly every festival circuit in 2011 and thus far, 2012 has been a year emblematic of a world’s top-tier DJ. Aside “Wild One Two”, the anthemic collaboration with David Guetta and Sia under the newly established record label Jack Back, Nicky has released countless other dance floor juggernauts such as “Toulouse”, “Generation 303”, and “Camorra”. After frequenting the festival circuit he will continue his residency at the prestigious Marquee club in Las Vegas. As for future productions, we can look for collaborations with Axwell, NERVO, and Calvin Harris.
Russian-born German-raised EDM producer/DJ/songwriter Zedd released his full-length debut album, Clarity, this month (October 2nd) via Interscope Records. The album features collaborations with Ellie Goulding, Ryan Tedder and Foxes and includes the wildly popular track “Spectrum” featuring Matthew Koma, which was #1 on Beatport for 18 days and rocketed into the top 10 on the iTunes dance chart. As a Rolling Stone “Artist to Watch” for 2012 as well as a Billboard 2012 Fall Preview “10 to Watch”, Zedd has separated himself in a crowded field by drawing from a diverse musical training and background spanning from classical to post-hardcore/metal to electro house in order to make meticulously detailed and carefully produced compositions. He has appeared at numerous festivals including Coachella, Ultra, Electric Daisy Carnival, Nocturnal, Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza, Hard Summer, and Electric Zoo in New York.
This summer, Nicky Romero and Zedd collaborated for the entitled “Human,” which is out now on Interscope Records and can be heard here: http://www.dancingastronaut.com/2012/07/nicky-romero-zedd-human-original-mix/.
